Description
Lightoaks and its attached greenhouse is a large house built in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of rough-cast brick and features a slate roof with roughcast stacks. It has an irregular layout, with the main entrance located on the north side, garden fronts facing east and south, and a service yard to the west. The greenhouse is attached at the north-east corner.
The north front of the house has two storeys and an attic above cellars, featuring three gabled bays, each adorned with shaped barge boards and casements that have patterned glazing bars. There is a central porte-cochere with two open-arched bays. The south front also has three gabled bays with shaped barge boards and casements with patterned glazing bars. The ground floor windows on the left and right are barge windows with hipped roofs, while the central ground floor projection has a lean-to roof. A covered arcade extends from the right-hand corner of the house to the attached greenhouse.
