Description

The First World War Memorial in Oakamoor, dating from around 1919, is constructed of ashlar stone. It features a square plan pedestal with inscribed panelled sides, which is elevated by two steps. The pedestal supports a rectangular shaft that tapers towards the top. At the top of the shaft, there is a cross within a circle, and a sword is intricately carved on the south face of both the cross and the shaft.
