Description

Lord's Bridge, located in Alton, is a bridge from the early 19th century. It is constructed of herringbone dressed ashlar and features a single segmental arch that spans the River Churnet. On each bank, there are small semi-circular arches, with all three arches having chamfered voussoirs and dripstones. The bridge has a parapet band leading to a panelled and coped parapet, which ends in square section piers. At the time of the last survey, the bridge was undergoing restoration. The other half of this bridge is situated in Farley.
