Description
The garden gateway to Biddulph Grange, located approximately 70 meters southeast of the Church of St Lawrence, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of ashlar and stands about 3 meters high. The gateway features a heavy ogee-moulded plinth and a Tudor-arched doorway. Above the doorway is a string course that drops as a label with ball flower terminals. The structure is topped with stepped pitched coping that extends over an incised panel depicting the Bateman coat-of-arms.
