BIDDULPH C.P. BIDDULPH GRANGE SJ 85 NE 7/12 Overton Road entrance - to Biddulph Grange; gates, gatepiers and flanking walls

GV II

Gates, gatepiers, flanking walls and pedestrian entry. Mid-C19. Ashlar. Panelled piers to main gates with moulded cappings and square vase- shaped finials; crested timber gates; short wall to left, ramped at both ends and connected to pedestrian entry. Low square-headed opening with vermiculated, rusticated surrounds; cornice and soldier course over with heightened centre, bearing vermiculated panel and circular urn finial; a quadrant of low stone walling completes the composition to the left and a short run of trefoil-headed cast iron railings set on a stone plinth running to the Lodge (not included), complete to the right.
