Description
The Alcove and approach steps at the north end of Lime Avenue is an ornamental garden building constructed between 1848 and 1860 by John Bateman. It is made of dressed stone and features three steps leading up to an elliptically-arched alcove that is approximately 2 meters wide. The alcove is supported by moulded and panelled square columns, has a three-panelled rear wall, and includes a stone seat on shaped legs.
