2/39 Garden Gateway about 20 metres 23.5.67 east of East Hall (formerly listed as Garden Gateway at East Hall Farm)

GV II

Garden gateway. Dated 1604, but possibly earlier. Stone, with roughly- coursed stone wall each side. Moulded 4-centred stone doorway, with ribbed door, up 3 stone steps. Shallow off-set immediately above doorway. Plain ashlar frieze and triangular stone-coped gable with short octagonal end finials. Date 1604 carved towards apex. Flanking walls ramped up to gateway and extending about 20 feet to right and left.
