Description
The garden boundary walls and gateway, located immediately west and south of The Chantry, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from high slate rubble and feature retaining walls. At the southern end, there is a curved corner with a pedestrian gateway that has a rusticated pointed arch, complete with an impost moulding, spandrels, and flanking piers topped with cornices, all made from dressed slate. The gateway includes a 19th-century panelled door that has intersecting tracery in the top panels. Additionally, there is an arched doorway in the middle that leads to a passage under the service wing of the house.
