Description
The churchyard gate piers, gates, and overthrow located north of the Church of St James in Slapton date from the early 19th century for the piers and from the late 19th or early 20th century for the gates and overthrow. The structure features a pair of square dressed slate piers with chamfered slate plinths and caps. The ornate cast iron gates are decorated with cusping and cresting. Above, a plain wrought-iron overthrow supports a lamp topped with a moulded finial.
