Cart Shed And Barn Approximately 35 Metres South West Of Stables To Ashcombe Park

This is a cart shed and barn located approximately 35 metres south-west of the stables to Ashcombe Park. It was refaced around 1806, although it is believed to incorporate elements from an older barn, possibly from the 17th century. The structure is built from coursed dressed and squared stone and features a tiled roof with verge parapets. The front has two levels, with hay lofts above the carriage sheds. The north-east side has been refaced and includes a large central segmental-headed opening that rises the full height of the building, flanked by smaller similar openings that are now partially blocked. Inside, there are brick cross walls on either side of a central accessway, with pointed arches leading to the interior openings.
