Description

COLWICH BELLAMOUR LANE, Bishton SK 02 SW 603-0/2/10020 Stables and coach houses adjoining west of Bishton Hall GV II

Stable and coach house range, converted to classrooms and a chapel. Circa mid C18, with later alterations. Red brick on stone plinth. Plain tile roof with gabled ends. L-shaped on plan; attached to the west side of Bishton Hall. 1-storey and attic. The west range has three ground floor windows, two doorways, an elliptically arched carriageway on right and three dormers. The longer north range has four coach house doors on left, various windows and doors on right and six dormers. The nine original hipped dormers have moulded eaves cornices and casements with leaded panes. C20 extensions on outer west side. Interior: Chapel in the west range, classrooms in the north range.
