3/24 Little Saredon Dairy - Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Early C18. Red brick; plain tile roof with raised verges; brick integral end stacks. T-shaped plan, main range with two parallel rear ranges containing a dairy and kitchen. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic with storey band and corbelled eaves cornice. 3 windows, casements with segmental heads. Central C19 door with segmental arched overlight and bracketed hood. Interior. In the entrance hall is a dog-leg staircase with turned balusters and square newels. Several Cl8 panelled doors; the outer muntin of the kitchen door is carved with a serpent and intertwined foliage. Chamfered and stopped ceiling beams in the front rooms; the kitchen has a spine beam and bresummer over the fireplace, both decorated with hollow chamfers and roll mouldings, probably C16. The dairy is entered from the kitchen and retains low stone benches.
