Description
Little Saredon Dairy Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed of red brick, featuring a plain tile roof with raised verges and brick integral end stacks. The building has a T-shaped plan, with the main range accompanied by two parallel rear ranges that house a dairy and kitchen. It stands two storeys tall with a gable-lit attic, a storey band, and a corbelled eaves cornice. The facade includes three windows with casements that have segmental heads. The central entrance features a 19th-century door with a segmental arched overlight and a bracketed hood.
Inside, the entrance hall contains a dog-leg staircase with turned balusters and square newels. There are several 18th-century panelled doors, with the outer muntin of the kitchen door intricately carved with a serpent and intertwined foliage. The front rooms have chamfered and stopped ceiling beams, while the kitchen features a spine beam and bresummer over the fireplace, both adorned with hollow chamfers and roll mouldings, likely from the 16th century. The dairy, accessed from the kitchen, retains low stone benches.
