Description

This is a mile post from the early 19th century, made of cast iron and featuring a triangular plan. The top is chamfered and then has a segmental shape, with the inscription "TOWNSHIP OF AUDLEY". The west face of the post indicates "CHESTERTON 2 MILES", while the east face shows "AUDLEY 1/2 MILE: BASFORD 5 3/4 MILES: NANTWICH 10 1/4 MILES".
