Description
This is a milepost located approximately 550 metres to the north-west of Bridge Number 73, dating from around 1830. It is made of cast iron and has a short cylindrical shape with a round top. The front features two curved rectangular plates at the top and one at the bottom. The lettering on the milepost is in a superscribed serif style, indicating distances: "NANTWICH / 8. / MILES" on the left side, "AUTHERLEY / JUNCTION, / 31, MILES" on the right side, and "NORBURY, / JUNCTION. / 15½, MILES" at the bottom.
