Description

Swanbach Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the 19th century. It is timber framed with brick infill and has a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and an attic.

On the entrance front, the right side features a later addition of two bays. There is a central ground floor doorway with a gabled porch in front. Flanking this doorway are three-light 19th-century casement oriel windows. Above, on the first floor, there are semi-dormer windows with gablets on either side. The left side of the façade is the earlier section, which includes superimposed canted bay windows on both the ground and first floors. Corner-posts with brackets support the jettied first floor and gable, which has moulded bressumers.

On the ground floor, to either side of the central window, there are three blocked lights set in the upper wall, featuring ovolo-moulded mullions. A similar arrangement is present on the first floor. The gable has small framing and a 20th-century two-light window. The left side of the building displays eight by three cells of small framing on a brick plinth, with angle braces on the right, left, and center.

Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams in the ground floor ceilings and panelled doors.
