Description
Fields Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse built of red brick in Flemish bond with white vitrified headers and a plain tile roof. The entrance front features three bays arranged symmetrically. The central front door is framed by a classical surround with fluted pilaster strips on either side, supporting a dosseret and an open pediment that encloses a fanlight. The door itself has six panels, with the lower two flush, the central two raised and fielded, and the upper two glazed. On the ground floor, there are sash windows with stone sills and wedge lintels, arranged as two windows of 4 x 3 panes on either side of the door. The first floor has two similar lateral windows and a central window of 3 x 3 panes. The second floor features three blind windows, with 4 x 2 panes on either side and a central window of 3 x 2 panes. There are gable stacks on either side of the house. To the right, there is a later lean-to outbuilding, and projecting at the front is a recessed range of farm buildings that includes a basket-arched driftway on the left, which has ashlar hinge dressings.
