Description

This is a milepost located on the east side of Audlem Lock No. 5, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a circular post with a domed top. The cambered plate is divided into three panels, which are inscribed with the following distances: 7 miles to Nantwich, 32 miles to Authersley Junction, and 16 and a half miles to Norbury Junction.
