Description
West End is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century. It is timber framed with whitewashed infill and has a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic. The entrance front features a stone plinth supporting 19 by 4 cells of small framing. The first floor juts out, supported by a moulded bressumer and moulded corbels, with a moulded pendant at a right angle. There are two ground floor plank doors located to the left and right of the centre, each with a gabled porch in front. To the left of centre is a 4-light 20th-century casement window, while a 3-light window is positioned to the right. On the first floor, there are two 3-light windows on the left and a 2-light window on the right. To the left of the main structure is a projecting gabled 19th-century wing made of brick, which is painted to resemble timber framing. This wing has cambered-headed 3-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, as well as a 3-light flat-lintelled window in the attic. A single light window from the 20th century has been added to the right of the first floor. The right gable end features 6 by 4 cells of small framing, along with a V-strut supporting the gable.
