Description

This milepost, located approximately 1040 metres south of Bridge Number 66, dates from around 1830 and is made of cast iron. It features a short cylindrical shape with a round top and has curved rectangular plates on the front, with two plates at the top and one at the bottom. The lettering is in a superscribed serif style, indicating distances: "AUTHERLEY. / JUNCTION. / 28, MILES" on the left side, "NANTWICH / 11./ MILES." on the right side, and "NORBURY. / JUNCTION./ 12½, MILES" at the bottom.
