Description
The Old Barn at Dimsdale Hall Farm is a small barn that was formerly a dwelling, dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of roughly coursed sandstone rubble and currently has no roof. The barn features three bays, with an inserted entrance on the south side that indicates its use as a barn. This elevation is flanked by two- and three-light stone mullioned windows. On the north side, there is a blocked doorway and a blocked two-light stone mullioned window. The gables are coped, and there is a three-light mullioned window in the west gable wall. Inside, the barn has two queen strut trusses at the gable ends and two queen post trusses, along with two chamfered cross beams.
