Description

This railway station, built in 1848, is constructed of red brick featuring blue brick diaperwork and has a plain tiled roof. The central block is two storeys high and is flanked by single-storeyed wings. The east front, which faces the station yard, has an advanced wing to the left and a central projecting bay, both topped with stone copings and Dutch gables. The windows are mullioned with round-headed lights. On the platform side, there is a long wing to the north that includes a series of doors and mullioned windows, with a Dutch gable above the main section.
