Description

The Price and Kensington Teapot Works is a pottery works that dates back to the early 19th century, with many later additions and alterations that show its continuous use. The building is constructed of brick and features plain tiled roofs, along with some 20th-century materials. It is a large working complex, with the main range facing the street consisting of two storeys and eleven bays arranged in a 2-9-2 pattern. The outer bays are slightly advanced, and the lower block has a pedimented gable with an oculus, although the gable has been removed from the upper section. The windows have flat-arched heads and stone sills.

At the rear, there are several buildings arranged around yards, including a long three-storeyed workshop range along the north side of the site, which has nine bays with windows that also feature flat-arched stone heads and sills. These windows cut an entrance arch on the ground floor that relates to an earlier phase of use. Additionally, a series of workshops and warehouses line the canal, with blocked arches that once provided access to the water. There is also a large bottle oven located in the courtyard to the east, which has a wide circular hovel.
