Description

This is a milepost, likely from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a black painted base with raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top that slopes towards the front. The top is lettered "MAER," while the left side reads "ASHLEY 3/MARKET DRAYTON 8," and the right side states "WHITMORE 14¾ /NEWCASTLE 6."
