Description

This milepost, located at the National Grid Reference SJ 8132 4112, dates from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a black painted base with raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top that slopes towards the front. The top is lettered with "WHITMORE," while the left side reads "ASHLEY 5/MARKET DRAYTON 10," and the right side shows "NEWCASTLE 4."
