Description
These estate cottages, dated 1877, feature the Mainwaring family coat-of-arms. They are constructed of painted brick and have a fishscale tiled roof adorned with scrolled fretwork and pointed wooden finials at the gables. The building is two storeys high with a four-window front, all featuring tall rectangular casements. The first-floor windows have gables that pierce the eaves. There is a gabled brick entrance porch located between the second and third windows from the left. The cottages have two internal end stacks and one central ridge stack, all with single brick shafts that have a rebate between them and a common capping. This structure is a typical and unspoilt example of its type and is included for its group value.
