Description

This is a milepost, likely from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is made of cast iron with a black painted base and features raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top that slopes towards the front. The top is lettered "ACTON," while the left side reads "WHITMORE 1;/MARKET DRAYTON 11," and the right side displays "TRENTHAM 3/LONGTON 6¾ STONE 8/STAFFORD 15."
