Description

This is a milepost, likely from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is made of cast iron with a black painted base and features raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top that slopes towards the front. The top is inscribed with "HANCHURCH," while the left side reads "WHITMORE 2¼/MARKET DRAYTON 12." The right side displays "TRENTHAM 2/LONGTON 5¾/STONE 7/STAFFORD 14."
