Description
This is a milepost, likely from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is made of cast iron with a black painted base and features raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top that slopes to the front. It is inscribed with "BLORE" on the top, "MARKET DRAYTON 3" on the left side, and on the right side, it reads "ASHLEY 2½ / WHITMORE 6¾ / ECCLESHALL 8½ / NEWCASTLE 11 / STAFFORD 15½".
