Description
This is a milepost, likely from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is made of cast iron, featuring a black painted base and raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top that slopes towards the front. The top is lettered "MAER," while the left side reads "ASHLEY 2/MARKET DRAYTON 7," and the right side states "WHITMORE 2¾/NEWCASTLE 7." There is a crack down the middle, but it is still recognized as part of a series of mileposts.
