Description

This milepost, located at the National Grid Reference SJ 8242 4217, dates from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a black painted base with raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top that slopes towards the front. The top is lettered "ACTON," while the left side indicates distances to "WHITMORE 1¼ / ASHLEY 6 / MARKET DRAYTON 11," and the right side shows "NEWCASTLE 3."
