Description

The building consists of cowhouses, a granary, and a stable located approximately 15 yards north of Fieldhead Farmhouse. It dates from around 1700, with later alterations and additions. The structure is made of red brick and features clay tile roofs with coped verges, forming three sides of a courtyard.

The north range, built around 1700, is a five-bay cowhouse that includes a granary. It has a blocked carriage arch on the left, with an inserted segmental-headed boarded door, and segmental-headed doors to the right and to the left of the center. There is also a blocked segmental-headed door to the right of the center, along with top-opening windows to the right, right of center, and left of center. The walls, door arches, and jambs are decorated with flared headers. Tallet steps on the west gable lead up to the granary door.

The west range is a three-bay cowhouse featuring segmental-headed bottom-hung casements on the left and in the center, and a top-opening window on the right. It has segmental-headed boarded doors to the left of center and right of center, along with a dentilled eaves course. The two right-hand bays of this range have been rebuilt.

The east range is a single-storey stable with three bays, which includes boarded doors on the right, left, and center.

Inside the north range, there is an open timber roof supported by a tie beam with raking struts extending to the principals, single trenched purlins, a ridge piece, and wind braces.
