Description

Croft's House is a mid-18th century house with later alterations and additions, located on the north side of Market Place in Abbot's Bromley. The building is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof and features brick end and ridge stacks. It consists of a two-story main house to the left, built on a slightly lower wing to the right. The main house has a plain parapet with blind openings containing painted stone balusters, to the right, left, and centre. It features five bays with glazing bar sashes, shaped lintels, raised keys, and aprons. A central two-leaf door is accessed via an elaborate doorcase with moulded brackets, a triple keystone, and an entablature, topped by a rectangular overlight. The two-story wing has a dentilled eaves course and two windows with glazing bar sashes. Ground floor windows have shaped lintels and raised keys; a door is located on the left, and the right-hand bay is a later addition. A dwarf brick wall and wrought iron wavy railings enclose a small forecourt. The interior remains uninspected, but may contain features of interest.
