Description

The war memorial in Abbots Bromley is a First World War memorial erected in 1920, possibly designed by local artist Frederick Mercer. It is constructed from local Hollington stone and features an octagonal base. On this base stands a pedestal with slate inscription panels and Gothic panelled shafts at the corners. The pedestal supports a tall, slender square-section shaft topped with a gabled St Chad's cross. The inscription panels on the sides of the pedestal are carved with the names of the fallen.
