Description

The Butter Cross is a village cross, likely dating from the 17th century. It features a timber frame and a hexagonal plain tile roof. The structure has an open-sided design with hexagonal timber piers positioned on stone pads at each angle and in the center, which support the timber roof. The central pier extends above the roof to form a cross, and wavy braces connect the angle piers to the wall plate. The floor is made of patterned cobbles.
