Description

A pair of cottages, now combined as a single house, likely dates to the 17th century with alterations in the 18th century. The house is constructed of red brick over a timber frame, with a clay tile roof and a brick central stack. It has one storey and an attic, with a floor band and chamfered quoins to the south-west corner. The front has three bays; a glazing bar sash window is on the ground floor to the right, bow windows are in the centre, and a segment-headed casement window is on the ground floor to the left. There are three gabled dormers with casement windows and barge boards in the attic. A blocked segment-headed doorway is to the left of the centre; a half-glazed recessed door is to the right of the centre, with a panelled doorcase. Decorative flared brick headers feature above the windows. The interior contains an inglenook fireplace, and the ceiling has chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
