Description
Rose Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century, with an addition from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof, along with brick integral end stacks and a brick ridge stack. The building is two storeys high and has a first floor band to the left and central bays. There are three windows, which are casements with wedge lintels and raised keys. To the left of the centre is a six-panelled door, which has the upper two panels glazed, and is framed by a wooden doorcase with pilasters and a flat hood. There is a vertical joint between the right-hand and central bays. Originally, Rose Cottage started as a two-bay house and was later extended by an additional bay to the west. It occupies a significant position in the town centre.
