Description

The cowhouse, located approximately 20 yards southeast of Madeley Park Farmhouse, dates from the early to mid-19th century and has undergone later alterations. It is constructed from chisel-dressed ashlar and features a clay tile roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, with ranges aligned northwest-southeast facing southwest, and northeast-southwest facing northwest.

On the left-hand range, the ground floor includes, from left to right, a window within a blocked doorway, a stable-type door, two windows, another stable-type door, and a window within a blocked door. There is also a concrete block lean-to extension with a corrugated roof and a large two-leaf sliding door located at the corner between the two ranges. This range has three loft openings, with the central one being glazed.

The right-hand range has a ground floor that features, from left to right, a window, a stable-type door, and another window, along with a loft window in the center.
