Description
Hollywood Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed large stone blocks, topped with a clay tile roof and featuring brick integral end stacks. The building has a two-bay end baffle-entry plan, with front and back doors opening to the western stack. The west bay contains the main living room, with doors at the north and south ends of its eastern wall providing access to the stairs and pantry at the rear, and a small chamber at the front. There are mid-19th century and 20th century extensions to the rear, forming an L-plan. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a first floor band and two windows featuring 20th century casements. To the left is a half-glazed door with a straight hood mould and a 20th century concrete block porch, while to the right is a mounting block that incorporates a dog kennel. Inside, there is a massive fireplace in the western room with an ovolo moulded mantle beam, exposed ceiling beams with ovolo mouldings, and a timber framed partition wall that continues upwards as a roof truss, featuring three studs and three rails between the collar and tie beam, along with a central vertical strut above the collar.
