Description
Cottage Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features whitewashed roughcast, likely over timber framing and some stone. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has two 20th-century brick ridge stacks, along with a roughcast internal stack located in the left corner. The building has a three-unit plan, which was probably originally a through-passage design. It stands two storeys high and has a four-window range. The third bay contains a part-glazed, fielded six-panelled door set in a wooden surround, topped by a hood supported on brackets. Above this door is a cross-glazed horizontal sash window. On the far right, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door. The ground floor features two-light casement windows with horizontal glazing bars, while the second and fourth bays have four-pane sash windows. Inside, there is a small amount of exposed framing, with the room on the right showcasing a broad-chamfered beam. The central room has a moulded beam, and the former open fireplace is highlighted by a moulded bressumer.
