Description
Abbey Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse with later additions. It is constructed of red brick on a moulded sandstone plinth, topped with a clay tile roof featuring coped verges and red brick external end stacks. The building consists of two parallel ranges with a mid-19th century extension at the rear. It stands two storeys high, with a first-floor band and a gable-lit attic. The facade has five windows, which are casements with segmental heads. The central glazed door has a moulded surround and a cornice hood, and is flanked by an oblong over-light. This entrance is accessed by a short flight of stone steps. To the left, there is a 20th-century single-storey extension with a flat roof and floor-to-eaves glazing.
