Description

The Old Schoolhouse is a former school, dating to the 17th century, with later rebuilding in the 20th century. It is now a house. The building is timber framed, with the south bay partly rebuilt in brick and roughcast. It has a plain tile roof, a brick integral end stack, and a brick ridge stack. The structure is in a T-shape, with three framed bays and a central, two-storey gabled porch projecting from the centre of the east side. The porch has bargeboards and a finial, and small rectangular panels. There are two storeys with a jetty, featuring a 2:1:1 window arrangement with 20th-century casement windows. An ovolo-moulded bresummer beam is located to the right of the porch, with parallel diagonal braces above forming chevron patterns. The upper storey of the south gable is tile hung. The interior features chamfered and stopped ceiling beams in the central and north bays, along with a dragon beam in the north bay.
