Description

This is a milepost dating from the early 19th century, made of cast iron. It has a triangular shape and features an inclined head that is set approximately 600 millimeters above the ground. The head is inscribed with the name "MARCHINGTON," while the left (east) face displays the distances to Sudbury (5½ miles) and Uttoxeter (9 miles), as well as the distance to Marchington (5½ miles). The right face indicates the distance to Burton (5 miles).
