Description
This is a milepost dating from the mid to late 19th century, made of cast iron. It has a triangular section with a chamfered top. The top face is inscribed with the word "MARCHINGTON." The left-hand face displays the distances to Yoxall (5½ miles), Kings Bromley (7½ miles), and Lichfield (13 miles). The right-hand face indicates the distances to Marchington (3¼ miles), Sudbury (3½ miles), and Ashbourne (13½ miles).
