Description

The Yews is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It incorporates Needwood Cottage. The house is built of red brick with a hipped roof covered with blue machine tiles and dentilled eaves. A large brick ridge stack is situated offset to the left. The front facade has three stories and three windows, featuring 16-pane sashes, with the top storey windows reduced to 8 panes. The windows have painted surrounds. A central entrance is marked by a painted surround and hood, above a part-glazed 6-panel door with a small-paned overlight. To the right is an attached wall, set back, with a round-arched opening containing a boarded door.
