Description
The building is a former school and school master's house, dated 1837. It is constructed of plain red brick and features a slate roof with moulded stone coping at the gable ends and a moulded stone eaves cornice. The original windows have been blocked, and modern casements and a shop front have been added. On the right side, there is an ashlar gabled porch with moulded coping, kneelers, and a finial, along with a shield displaying the date 1837 above a four-centred arch window. To the left, the school master's house is two storeys tall, gabled, and L-shaped in plan, with a fishscale tile roof. It has stone window frames with two- and three-light diamond pane casements and a gabled porch in the angle featuring a Tudor arch. The building also has brick chimney stacks with groups of three square shafts.
