Description

The building is a school and schoolmaster's house, dated 1851. It is constructed of red English bond brick with ashlar dressings and features a roof made of alternating bands of plain and fishscale tiles. The structure is single and two storeys high.

On the east front, the schoolmaster's house is on the left side and has two storeys. It consists of two bays, with the right bay being a projecting gabled wing that contains 3-light windows surrounded by ashlar on both the ground and first floors. The first-floor window has stepped cusped lights. To the left of this wing, there is a lean-to porch in the re-entrant angle and a 2-light window, with a cross window above it on the first floor.

To the right of the house is a single-storey school room range, which features a gabled porch on the left with stone quoins at its corners, along with a pointed arched doorway that has a moulded surround. To the right of the porch, there are three windows: one 3-light window on the left and two 2-light windows on the right, all with ashlar surrounds and cusped heads. The right gable end of this block has a central projecting chimney stack with ashlar dressings and two windows on either side. The lower quoin on the left side bears the date. Recessed and connected to this range on the right is a gabled bay that features a 3-light window with cusped heads. The right flank of this wing has 3 and 2-light windows with cusped heads.
