Description

This is a house dating back to the 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the 19th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill and brickwork in a Flemish bond pattern, covered by a plain tile roof. The house is two storeys high. The front of the property has three bays; the two bays to the right were built in the 17th century and have a steeper roof pitch than the bay on the left, which is a later addition from the early to mid-19th century. The right-hand section features a symmetrical arrangement with a central doorway on the ground floor, and three-light casement windows to either side. The first floor has two-light casement windows with flat lintels. To the left, the ground and first floor windows comprise three lights each. Chimney stacks are located to the right of the centre and to the extreme left. The right gable end has a ground plate and irregular small-framing with an angle brace on the right side. The gable is slightly jettied and includes an ovolo-moulded bressumer, a queen-post truss, and a V-strut to the gable. To the right of this is an 18th-century lean-to outshut with timber framing visible in its half-gable. Inside, the ground floor features ovolo-moulded ceiling beams, and an ingle-nook fireplace with a cambered bressumer.
