Description
The obelisk at Rode Hall is a monument dating from the 18th or 19th century. It is made of yellow sandstone ashlar and stands on a square plinth with a chamfered upper edge. The obelisk itself consists of two sections of yellow sandstone, also with chamfered edges. The upper stone of the obelisk has been replaced, and local legend suggests that it originally featured a sculpture of a woman seated on a stone chair holding a basket of eggs. This monument was previously located at Kent Green, where it was listed in 1967.
