Description

Bank Farmhouse is an early 17th century farmhouse, with later alterations. It is timber framed with rendered brick infill, and has a plain tile roof. The main part of the house is two storeys high. The front of the house has a small timber-framed section with angle braces. A projecting service wing from the 19th or 20th century is located to the left, and a doorway with two 20th-century windows – one a bow window and the other a 2-light casement – are positioned to the right. The first floor has a single-light window and a 3-light casement window. A section of brickwork on the right-hand side is painted to resemble timber framing. Ridge stacks are located to the left of centre and to the right. The right-hand gable end has six rows of three small timber frames with angle braces, an ovolo-moulded bressumer to the slightly jettied gable and 3-light 20th-century windows to the ground and first floors, and one 3-light attic window with ovolo-moulded mullions. The rear of the house has 3-light casement windows to the ground floor, and a door is centrally placed. The rear is also painted to simulate a timber-frame pattern which sits behind the render. Inside, the ground floor rooms feature chamfered and ovolo-moulded ceiling beams with exposed rafters.
