Description

Nos 17 and 18 on Barrow Street are early 18th century buildings constructed of brown brick. They rise to three storeys and feature four sash windows, each with keyblocks and plain lintels. At the center, there is a semi-circular covered way. The shop fronts date from the late 19th century. On the returned side of No 17, there is one sash window in the center, which has a channelled lintel and keyblock above a moulded wood doorcase. This doorcase includes a rectangular fanlight and an attractive gabled rustic wood porch. These buildings are included for their group value, as they form a cohesive group with Nos 16 to 22.
